Bobcats can complete sweep of home-and-home series vs. Hawks

Jan 20, 2007 - 3:26 PM Atlanta (13-24) at Charlotte (13-25) 7:00 pm EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- One of the few teams the Charlotte Bobcats have had consistent success against in their three-year history has been the Atlanta Hawks.

The Bobcats look for their eighth triumph in 11 all-time encounters against the Hawks when the teams complete their home-and-home series on Saturday.

Gerald Wallace returned to the Charlotte lineup on Friday after missing seven games with a separated right shoulder. He scored 18 points and grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds in a 96-75 win over Atlanta.

Emeka Okafor made 10-of-12 shots, scored 22 points and pulled down 13 rebounds and rookie Adam Morrison added 19 points off the bench for Charlotte, which avenged a 99-90 loss to Atlanta on November 29.

The Hawks never led and trailed by as many as 26 points. They scored just 16 in the third quarter and 18 in the fourth, while being outrebounded, 47-31, for the contest.

Joe Johnson scored 19 points, Josh Smith added 14 and Josh Childress 12 for the Hawks, who entered averaging 101.3 points during their three-game winning streak.
