Raptors look to move up in standings, host Bobcats
Jan 22, 2007 - 2:53 PM Charlotte (14-25) at Toronto (19-22) 7:00 pm ESTTORONTO (Ticker) -- After falling to one of the NBA's best teams, the Toronto Raptors hope to regroup against one of the league's worst.
The Raptors aim to jump back near the top in the Atlantic Division when they host the lowly Charlotte Bobcats on Monday.
One of the NBA's hottest teams over the last two weeks, Toronto trails first-place New Jersey (20-20) by 1 1/2 games in the woeful Atlantic Division.
The Raptors look to bounce back from Friday's 102-94 loss to the Utah Jazz, who boast the league's fourth-best record at 27-14.
Chris Bosh scored 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while reserve Jose Calderon added 16 points for Toronto, which lost for just the third time in the last nine games.
The Raptors, who fell to 11-7 at Air Canada Centre this season, seek to improve their home record against the Bobcats, who hope to carry some momentum from their home-and-home sweep of the Atlanta Hawks.
After cruising to a win in Atlanta on Friday, Charlotte returned home to post a 104-85 victory over the Hawks on Saturday.
Matt Carroll scored 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting and Emeka Okafor added 19 and four blocks for Charlotte, which shot a team-record 65 percent (42-of-65).
Rookie Adam Morrison had 18 points and Jeff McInnis added a season-high 17 and nine assists for the Bobcats, who have matched a franchise record with three consecutive road wins.
