Cavaliers return home against struggling Howard, Magic
Jan 22, 2007 - 3:29 PM Orlando (22-19) at Cleveland (24-16) 7:00 pm ESTCLEVELAND (Ticker) -- Even though they'll be facing an angry superstar, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are glad to be home.
After capping a seven-game road trip with a dramatic win, the Cavaliers return home Monday to host Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic.
Cleveland avoided a late-game collapse en route to a 106-104 overtime victory over the new-look Golden State Warriors on Saturday.
James came up with a game-saving strip of Matt Barnes with 2.5 seconds remaining and collected 35 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the victory.
It was a much-needed road win for the Cavaliers, who snapped a three-game skid to complete a 3-4 trip. They now will return home, where they are 15-3 this season.
On Monday, Cleveland will face the Magic and Howard, who was held to a season-low one point in Saturday's 101-94 loss to the New Jersey Nets.
Orlando's leading scorer (17.1) and rebounder (12.5), Howard missed all six of his shots and was held scoreless until making a free throw with 3:24 remaining. He fouled out just 78 seconds later.
Mired in a season-high five-game skid, the Magic figure to run into more trouble in Cleveland, where they have lost six straight contests.
