Lakers look to continue recent dominance of Warriors

Jan 22, 2007 - 3:48 PM Golden State (19-22) at LA Lakers (26-15) 10:30 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- After recent struggles on the road, the Los Angeles Lakers return home to face a team they have dominated.

The Lakers go for their 10th victory in 11 encounters with the Golden State Warriors when the Pacific Division foes square off Monday in Los Angeles.

The Lakers have won five straight meetings with Golden State and own a six-game home winning streak vs. the Warriors.

Los Angeles, which is 13-1 all-time here against Golden State, hopes to bounce back from Saturday's 113-103 loss to the New Orelans Hornets.

Kobe Bryant and Maurice Evans scored 23 points apiece and Smush Parker added 13 for the Lakers, who reached the midway point of the campaign with four more victories than at this time last season.

On Monday, Los Angeles aims to improve its 18-4 home record against a Golden State squad which is attempting to adapt to the additions of Stephen Jackson, Al Harrington and Sarunas Jasikevicius, who were acquired from Indiana in an eight-player trade on Wednesday.

Although the newcomers made an immediate impact in their debut with the team, Golden State lost for the fifth time in six games with Saturday's 106-104 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Jackson made 10-of-25 shots and scored 29 points, Monta Ellis added 16 and Harrington chipped in 14 for the Warriors, who rank third in the league in scoring (105.5).
