Bulls look to bounce back vs. Hawks

Jan 23, 2007 - 2:56 PM Atlanta (13-25) at Chicago (23-19) 8:30 pm EST

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Bulls need a win against a lesser opponent before taking last year's NBA finalists in consecutive games.

Ben Gordon and the Bulls hope to get back on track Tuesday when they host the lowly Atlanta Hawks.

Since winning three straight, Chicago has dropped consecutive contests, including Monday's 98-91 loss to the Indiana Pacers.

Gordon scored 21 points and Luol Deng added 18 for Chicago, which struggled throughout the game with star center Ben Wallace nursing neck and back injuries. The Bulls' emotional leader and defensive force, Wallace had just five points and three rebounds in 21 minutes.

Chicago, which hosts Dallas and Miami later this week, figures to bounce back Tuesday against the Hawks, reeling from two straight losses to the Charlotte Bobcats in a home-and-home series.

In the first matchup between the teams this season, Chicago posted a 106-104 overtime victory in Atlanta on December 16.
