Nets look for first win on road trip

Jan 25, 2007 - 3:03 PM New Jersey (20-22) at LA Clippers (20-21) 10:30 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The New Jersey Nets are on the wrong coast.

After two heartbreaking losses, the Nets continue their five-game road trip on Thursday when they face the Los Angeles Clippers.

Just two days after squandering a 20-point lead in an 88-87 loss at Sacramento, New Jersey blew a 12-point fourth-quarter advantage against the Golden State Warriors to drop its 10th consecutive game on the West Coast - six this season.

Monta Ellis' jumper at the buzzer lifted the Warriors to a 110-109 victory over New Jersey on Wednesday. Jason Kidd collected 26 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds and Vince Carter had 23 points and a career-high 13 assists for the Nets.

After the back-to-back losses, New Jersey dropped one-half game behind the first-placeToronto Raptors in the Atlantic Division. The Nets are just 7-12 on the road this season.

The Clippers have won three straight contests - all at home. The latest was a 115-96 victory over Milwaukee on Tuesday as Elton Brand scored 25 points.

Los Angeles is tied with Minnesota for eighth place in the Western Conference. The Clippers are 9-5 since December 27.
