Suns look for franchise-record win streak vs. Bucks

Jan 26, 2007 - 5:05 PM Phoenix (34-8) at Milwaukee (17-25) 8:30 pm EST

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- In a season full of remarkable feats, the Phoenix Suns will try to top themselves.

Looking for a franchise-record 16th straight win, the Suns visit the undermanned Milwaukee Bucks on Friday.

The Suns tied a franchise record Wednesday with their 15th consecutive win, a 112-107 victory over the New York Knicks.

Perfecting the two-man game down the stretch, Amare Stoudemire had 30 points and 11 rebounds while Steve Nash added 22 and 14 assists.

Shawn Marion chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds for Phoenix, which has won 31 of its last 33 games, including two 15-game winning streaks. The Suns also reeled off 15 in a row from November 20-December 19.

After trouncing Washington and holding on to beat the Knicks at Madison Square Garden, Phoenix will play its third game of a five-game road trip. After taking on the Bucks, the Suns will play at Cleveland and Minnesota.

Milwaukee continued its poor play on Wednesday, dropping a 114-106 decision to the Sacramento Kings.

Playing without injured starters Michael Redd, Mo Williams and Charlie Villanueva, Earl Boykins fired in a career-high 36 points for Milwaukee, which ended an 0-4 road trip and has lost 10 of 11 overall.

In the first meeting between the teams, the Bucks stayed with the Suns for most of the contest but dropped a 122-116 decision on December 1. Redd scored 37 points for the Bucks in the loss.
