McGrady's third-quarter outburst helps Rockets blast Blazers

Jan 27, 2007 - 4:15 AM HOUSTON (Ticker) -- Superstar Tracy McGrady has the Houston Rockets back in form once again.

McGrady scored 17 of his 28 points in the third quarter and led four players in double figures as the Rockets coasted to a 99-69 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Shane Battier scored 15 points and Bonzi Wells chipped in 14 off the bench for Houston, which has won back-to-back games after dropping three consecutive contests.

McGrady - who was voted to his seventh All-Star team - made 11-of-16 shots, including 3-of-6 from the arc. He also had five assists and four rebounds.

McGrady was untouchable in third quarter, scoring seven straight points at one stage during a commanding 24-4 burst to finish out the period.

The Rockets shot an impressive 52 percent (12-of-32) from the floor in the quarter, outscoring the Trail Blazers, 32-14.

Zach Randolph scored 13 points for Portland, which shot just 36 percent (26-of-72) and was outscored, 63-35, in the second half.
