Crawford looks to follow 52-point outing when Knicks face Bucks

Jan 28, 2007 - 2:24 PM New York (19-26) at Milwaukee (17-26) 3:30 pm EST

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Coming off the most impressive performance of his career, Jamal Crawford has a tough act to follow.

The New York Knicks again turn to Crawford to lead them to their third win in five games Sunday when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks in their second matchup of the season.

After missing his first four shots in Friday's 116-96 triumph over the Miami Heat, Crawford finished 20-of-30 from the floor to score a career-high 52 points, tying Bernard King for the sixth-best total in franchise history.

The 6-5 Crawford made 16 consecutive shots through the first three quarters, leaving him three shy of Johnny Newman's team mark set over three games in January, 1988. He is averaging 24.6 points in his last five contests.

Crawford went 8-of-10 from the arc, Channing Frye scored 16 points and Stephon Marbury collected 13 assists for the Knicks.

The Bucks have lost six straight games for the first time since dropping eight in a row from March 20-April 1, 2005. They are 0-4 at home in January and hoping to avoid their first winless month here since April 1992.

Milwaukee is coming off Friday's 98-90 defeat to the red-hot Phoenix Suns. Charlie Bell scored 21 points and Earl Boykins added 18 for the Bucks.

New York took the first encounter against Milwaukee, 115-107, on December 9. Eddy Curry led the Knicks with 36 points and Crawford had 25.
