With Williams back, Bucks face Heat, look for continue success

Jan 30, 2007 - 3:11 PM Milwaukee (18-26) at Miami (19-25) 7:30 pm EST

MIAMI (Ticker) -- Apparently, all the Milwaukee Bucks needed was the return of Mo Williams.

Holding a 2-9 record without star guard Michael Redd, the Bucks look for their second win in a row since the return of Williams when they face the Miami Heat on Tuesday.

Williams returned to the lineup and scored five points in the last 40 seconds as the Bucks ended a six-game losing streak with a 107-105 victory over the New York Knicks on Sunday. It was just their third win in their last 15 games since going on a six-game winning streak from December 16-27.

Williams finished with 30 points and 10 assists for the Milwaukee, which nearly blew a 13-point fourth-quarter lead but held on to end its longest losing streak in nearly two years. The Bucks also avoided their first winless month at home since April 1992.

An emerging star at point guard, Williams had missed the last nine games with a sprained left shoulder. The injury-riddled Bucks won just one of those games, falling into the Central Division cellar.

Playing without star center Shaquille O'Neal, who was sitting out the second game of a back-to-back, the Heat absorbed a 100-97 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Saturday. Dwyane Wade was held scoreless in the first quarter but collected eight of his 24 points in the fourth.

After going on a season-high four-game winning streak, Miami has lost six out of its last eight contests. However, the Heat have defeated the Bucks five straight times at home.
