Carter, Nets shoot for third straight win

Superstar Vince Carter and the Nets look to notch their third consecutive win Wednesday when they host the Detroit Pistons.
Carter poured in 33 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer as time expired, to lift New Jersey to a 116-115 victory at Utah on Monday. Jason Kidd added 22 points, 10 assists and six rebounds in the win.
Carter has been impressive in his last four games, averaging 32.2 points while shooting 58 percent from the floor during that stretch.
New Jersey, which has won five games in a row here, enters tied with the Toronto Raptors for the lead in the Atlantic Division.
Detroit fell, 104-99, at Eastern Conference-leading Washington on Tuesday. Chauncey Billups had 24 points and eight assists and Tayshaun Prince scored 19 in the loss.
However, the Pistons have won three straight meetings against the Nets dating to last season - including both matchups this season.
The Pistons are the only team in the conference with a winning road record, 13-8.
