McGrady, Rockets aim for fourth consecutive win

Jan 31, 2007 - 5:56 PM Seattle (17-28) at Houston (28-16) 8:30 pm EST

HOUSTON (Ticker) -- All-Star Tracy McGrady would like to end the month of January just like he started it - with a win.

McGrady and the Houston Rockets hope to extend their winning streak to four games Wednesday when they host the lowly Seattle SuperSonics.

With a win, the Rockets would record their second four-game winning streak this month. They had won four in a row from January 8-13.

Two days ago, McGrady had 25 points and Juwan Howard chipped in 20 and 10 rebounds as Houston improved to 9-4 in January with a 105-84 triumph over Philadelphia.

Sharpshooter Ray Allen's 35-point outburst could not keep the SuperSonics from registering their 13th straight road defeat, a 122-102 setback at Dallas on Tuesday.

Another loss will tie a franchise record for most consecutive defeats away from home. The last time Seattle dropped 14 straight road games was from March 23, 1976 to December 1, 1977.

In their first matchup, Allen outscored McGrady, 32-31, but Houston still managed to come away with a 103-96 victory here on January 3.
