Motivated Curry, Knicks face surging Clippers

Feb 6, 2007 - 3:33 PM LA Clippers (24-23) at New York (21-28) 7:30 pm EST

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- After being left off the All-Star team, Eddy Curry is playing like he has something to prove.

Curry and the Knicks will look for their second straight impressive performance when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday.

Led by Curry, New York dominated the interior in a 94-86 victory over Orlando on Saturday. The 6-11 Curry scored 27 points on 10-of-13 shooting and grabbed six rebounds as the Knicks snapped a three-game road losing streak.

The stellar effort for Curry came two days after he was not selected to the Eastern Conference squad as a reserve.

Curry will aim to keep it going against the Clippers, who have won seven of their last nine games. On Tuesday, Los Angeles will play the third contest in a seven-game road trip.

The Clippers were defeated, 122-110, by streaking Toronto on Sunday despite finishing with six players in double figures and making a season-high 11 3-pointers.

Cuttino Mobley scored 24 points while Elton Brand collected 21 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for Los Angeles.

Winners of four straight games against the Knicks, the Clippers secured a 90-80 home victory in the last meeting between the two squads on December 31.
