Hot-shooting McGrady, Rockets will face off with struggling Grizzlies

Feb 6, 2007 - 3:47 PM Houston (30-17) at Memphis (12-36) 8:00 pm EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- After one bad night, superstar Tracy McGrady returned to form.

Recovering from an off night with a spectacular performance, McGrady will continue to lead the Houston Rockets when they face the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday.

Leading the Rockets to four straight impressive victories from January 24-31, McGrady had averaged 31.5 points over that span but was held to just 18 points on 7-of-16 shooting in Saturday's 87-74 loss to the New Orleans Hornets.

He bounced back on Monday, scoring 16 of his 32 points in the third quarter as Houston cruised to a 105-77 victory over the struggling Minnesota Timberwolves. McGrady had been held in check in the first three games this season - two losses - against Minnesota, averaging just 17.7 points and shooting 33 percent.

Averaging 22.4 points in 21 career games against the Grizzlies, McGrady scored 38 points to lead the Rockets to a 111-109 victory on December 31 in the last meeting between the squads.

Memphis is coming off a 116-110 loss to the Indiana Pacers on Saturday. Pau Gasol scored 20 points for the Grizzlies, who have dropped four of their last five games and are in the finale of a five-game homestand.
