Iguodala continues coming out party against Charlotte
Feb 7, 2007 - 6:16 PM Charlotte (18-30) at Philadelphia (16-33) 7:00 pm ESTPHILADELPHIA (Ticker) - It seems that one of the smallest players in the NBA was casting a big shadow over Andre Iguodala.
Now the main man for the Philadelphia 76ers, Iguodala will look to continue his emergence Wednesday against the Charlotte Bobcats.
After a 5-18 start, Philadelphia traded superstar guard Allen Iverson to Denver. The trade brought back Andre Miller and Joe Smith and opened up the offense for Iguodala, a third-year swingman who has responded.
The Sixers are a respectable 11-15 since the trade. They are 5-5 in their last 10 contests while showing some signs of life.
Iguodala has 16 20-point games since Iverson headed to the Rockies, including 23 and a career-high 15 assists with seven rebounds in a 100-98 home overtime victory over New Jersey on Monday.
Iguodala scored eight points in the fourth quarter and sank a clutch 3-pointers in overtime while helping hound Nets star Vince Carter into an 8-for-23 shooting performance.
Charlotte has lost two of three overall but has won three straight vs. Philadelphia, including an 89-83 victory January 13, the only meeting this season.
