O'Neal can set Pacers' franchise mark for blocked shots

Feb 11, 2007 - 1:48 PM LA Clippers (25-25) at Indiana (26-24) 2:30 pm EST

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Jermaine O'Neal has done more than his share to keep the Indiana Pacers in the playoff picture.

O'Neal is expected to be in the lineup for the Pacers, who attempt to snap a three-game losing streak Sunday in their first meeting of the season against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Named to his sixth consecutive All-Star Game, O'Neal trails only Denver's Marcus Camby in blocked shots (3.0) and needs just three to surpass Rik Smits' career franchise record (1,112). He has recorded a block in 46 consecutive games.

After sitting out Wednesday's contest against the Seattle SuperSonics with a sore left knee, O'Neal played 37 minutes and scored 16 points Friday against the Denver Nuggets. He is listed as a game-time decision.

Indiana prolonged its losing streak in a 102-95 defeat to the Nuggets. Mike Dunleavy Jr. scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for his second double-double in three games, and Danny Granger added 19 points for the Pacers.

The Clippers have dropped three of the first five contests on a seven-game Eastern road trip and are just 8-17 away from home this season.

Los Angeles snapped a three-game skid with Friday's 90-89 triumph over the Philadelphia 76ers. Sam Cassell scored 22 points and Cuttino Mobley added 17 as the Clippers posted their first win at Philadelphia since March 10, 1996.

Indiana is 25-6 in the all-time series here.
