Suns look to rise again when they host Bulls

Feb 11, 2007 - 2:15 PM Chicago (28-23) at Phoenix (39-11) 8:00 pm EST

PHOENIX (Ticker) - The Phoenix Suns have looked invincible for most of the season, just not lately.

The Suns try to break out of a slump when they host the Chicago Bulls on Sunday.

Phoenix has 39 wins, the second most in the NBA behind Dallas' 41. But, the Suns are just 3-3 in their last six games, and have played their last two without star Steve Nash.

The guard has been out with right shoulder inflammation and is listed as a game-time decision for Sunday. Nash is on pace to become the first player since Magic Johnson and Kevin Johnson in 1989-90 to average 19 points and 11 assists in a season.

Nash is averaging 19.3 points and a career-high 11.8 assists per game this season for Phoenix, which dropped four straight from November 3-11 but are 39-6 since.

In its latest outing, Phoenix lost at home to the Atlanta Hawks, 120-111.

The Bulls, 20-6 at home this season but just 8-17 on the road, have lost three straight. Chicago is 2-4 on its seven-game road trip.

Ben Gordon scored 24 points for Chicago in a 123-121 overtime loss to the Golden State Warriors on Friday.
