Hawks aim for fifth straight road win

Feb 11, 2007 - 2:19 PM Atlanta (19-30) at Golden State (24-27) 9:00 pm EST

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- Coach Mike Woodson has turned the Atlanta Hawks into road warriors of late.

The Hawks will try and capture their fifth straight game away from home when they face the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.

Atlanta has not been able to win five road contests in a row since an impressive seven-game road winning streak during the 1992-93 campaign.

The duo of Joe Johnson and Josh Smith combined to score 57 points in the opener of their five-game West Coast swing on Friday, a 120-111 victory at Phoenix.

Golden State is coming off its 123-121 thrilling overtime win over the Chicago Bulls here on Friday. Al Harrington had 24 points and nine rebounds to lead six players in double figures.

The Warriors were playing their third straight game without guard Baron Davis, who remains sidelined with a bruised left knee. He leads the team in scoring (20.7) and assists (8.7).

In their first matchup just 12 days ago, Johnson buried the Warriors for 33 points and seven rebounds in a 115-94 win at Phillips Arena, while Harrington - a former Hawk - scored 21 points in the loss.
