Mavericks go for eighth consecutive win

Feb 13, 2007 - 4:49 PM Dallas (42-9) at Milwaukee (19-32) 8:00 pm EST

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) - All-Star Dirk Nowitzki and the red-hot Dallas Mavericks will look to add the Milwaukee Bucks to their recent list of victims.

The league-leading Mavericks hope to extend their winning streak to eight games Tuesday when they visit the lowly Bucks.

Dallas won the first leg of its three-game road trip with Sunday's 106-89 triumph at Philadelphia behind Nowitzki, who had 24 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.

"Ultimately, that's what you want to do on the road is establish yourself, play some good defense, push the ball up the floor and make some shots," Nowitzki said.

The Mavericks are 18-6 on the road this season, which is the second best mark in the NBA behind the Phoenix Suns, who are 19-6 away from home.

Milwaukee lost for the sixth time in seven games, falling to the Denver Nuggets, 109-102 on Saturday. Earl Boykins scored 26 points for Milwaukee.

The Bucks are struggling without star guard Michael Redd, who has missed 18 straight games with a strained patellar tendon in left knee.

The Mavs have been horrific at the Bradley Center, going just 2-16 here since the 1988-89 campaign.
