Suns hope to rebound without Nash, face Sonics on the road

Feb 14, 2007 - 4:31 PM Phoenix (39-12) at Seattle (19-32) 10:00 pm EST

SEATTLE (Ticker) - The Phoenix Suns will be without two-time MVP Steve Nash for a fourth straight game Wednesday when they face the Seattle SuperSonics.

Without their floor leader due to inflammation in his right shoulder, the Suns have lost two of their last three games. They are trying to avoid their first three-game losing streak since a four-game slide from November 3-9.

Phoenix is 4-10 overall without Nash since he rejoined the franchise in 2004-05.

Amare Stoudemire and Leandro Barbosa - who has replaced Nash in the starting lineup - scored 26 points each in Sunday's 116-103 loss to Chicago.

Ray Allen and Chris Wilcox scored 25 points apiece to lead the SuperSonics to a 114-103 victory over Sacramento on Sunday.

Rashard Lewis had 23 points and 10 rebounds for Seattle in just his second game since returning from a torn hand tendon earlier this season.

On January 9, Shawn Marion collected 29 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Suns to a 113-102 victory over the Sonics.
