Grizzlies seek back-to-back wins for the first time

Feb 14, 2007 - 4:34 PM Memphis (14-39) at Indiana (27-24) 7:00 pm EST

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Memphis Grizzlies will try to win consecutive games for the first time this season when they visit All-Star Jermaine O'Neal and the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.

Memphis is coming off its first win in the Southwest Division - a 108-104 victory over the New Orleans Hornets.

Mike Miller scored 22 points, Chucky Atkins added 19 and rookie Rudy Gay chipped in 18 for the Grizzlies, who have not captured back-to-back wins since a five-game winning streak to end last season.

The Pacers put an end to their three-game slide on Sunday with a 94-80 triumph over the Los Angeles Clippers. O'Neal had 21 points and four blocks and Mike Dunleavy netted 20 in the win.

Indiana swingman Danny Granger, who is averaging 13.2 points per game, left Sunday's win with a sore neck. He is listed as day-to-day.

On Tuesday, Memphis traded center Jake Tsakalidis to Houston for forward Scott Padgett, who is averaging just 1.8 points this season.

"I know a little about Padgett," Grizzlies interim coach Tony Barone said. "I know he is a great 3-point shooter."
