Bobcats aim to snap four-game losing streak

Feb 14, 2007 - 4:39 PM Chicago (29-24) at Charlotte (18-33) 7:00 pm EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The Charlotte Bobcats will try to avoid losing five in a row for the first time this season.

The struggling Bobcats bring their third four-game losing streak of the season to the court Wednesday when the host the Chicago Bulls.

Charlotte had dropped four games in a row from November 8-14 and December 6-13.

Raymond Felton scored 16 points and rising star Emeka Okafor added 15, 12 rebounds and three steals in the Bobcats' 104-83 setback at Houston on Sunday.

On Tuesday, the Bobcats traded forward-center Melvin Ely to the San Antonio Spurs for journeyman Eric Williams and a second-round pick in 2009.

"It's always difficult to part with a player of Melvin's stature and skill set," Bobcats coach Bernie Bickerstaff said. "At the same time, we've acquired another veteran player and a future draft pick, which allows us even more flexibility as we continue to build this franchise and develop our younger players."

Chicago is coming off Tuesday's heartbreaking 112-111 loss to the Toronto Raptors at the United Center despite a combined 56 points from Luol Deng and Ben Gordon.

The Bulls are just 9-17 on the road this season, but have won three of four meetings here against the Bobcats all-time.

Gordon's 23 points led Chicago to an impressive 115-76 victory in their first matchup in the Windy City on December 23.
