Redd looks to lead Bucks to rare road win vs. Knicks

Feb 23, 2007 - 3:14 PM Milwaukee (19-36) at New York (24-31) 7:30 pm EST

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The Milwaukee Bucks have been unable to take advantage of Michael Redd's return from a knee injury.

The league's sixth-leading scorer at 27.7 points, Redd tries to help the Bucks snap a six-game losing streak and win for the first time in 11 road outings in Friday matchup against the New York Knicks.

Redd suffered a strained patellar tendon in his left knee on January 5 and Milwaukee went 3-17 in the games he missed. He returned Tuesday and scored 17 points in an 84-83 loss to the Detroit Pistons.

One day later, Redd seemed to regain his old form, hitting 13-of-28 shots and scoring 38 points for the Bucks in Wednesday's 136-129 loss to the Indiana Pacers.

Mo Williams scored 24 points and Charlie Bell added 21 for Milwaukee, which is winless since February 6 against the Orlando Magic and looking for its first road triumph since January 15 against the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Knicks have one more victory than they recorded all of last season and are 4-3 in February. They have won their last four home games and are 5 1/2 games behind the Toronto Raptors in the Atlantic Division race.

New York is coming off Wednesday's 104-84 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. Eddy Curry scored 22 points and Jamal Crawford added 14 for the Knicks, who were outrebounded, 41-32.

The teams have split their first two matchups this season, with the Bucks posting a 107-105 victory on January 28.
