Mavs put 10-game winning streak on line

Feb 24, 2007 - 5:05 PM Denver (26-27) at Dallas (45-9) 9:00 pm EST

DALLAS (Ticker) -- While the Denver Nuggets can't seem to get on the same page, the Dallas Mavericks are clicking on all cylinders.

Riding a 10-game winning streak, the Mavericks will take on superstars Allen Iverson, Carmelo Anthony and the Nuggets on Saturday.

On Thursday, Dallas routed Miami, 112-100, in a nationally-televised rematch of the last year's NBA Finals. MVP candidate Dirk Nowitzki scored 31 points as the Mavericks completed a season sweep of the Heat, who were without Dwayne Wade.

Dallas pulled away in the second quarter and led by as many as 32 points early in the fourth.

The Mavericks are the fourth team in league history to have three winning streaks of at least 10 games. Dallas has won 45 of 50 games after an 0-4 start.

Iverson and Anthony combined to score 69 of the Nuggets' points in a 114-104 loss to Utah on Friday. Despite the stellar play from the two superstars, Denver dropped its sixth game in nine contests.

In seventh place in the Western Conference, the Nuggets are 18 1/2 games behind the Mavericks.
