Raptors seek first win in San Antonio in more than six years

Feb 26, 2007 - 2:40 PM Toronto (31-25) at San Antonio (38-18) 8:00 pm EST

SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- Chris Bosh was a junior in high school the last time the Toronto Raptors won in San Antonio.

Bosh and the red-hot Raptors aim for their third straight win Monday when they visit the San Antonio Spurs.

Arguably the biggest surprise team in the Eastern Conference, Toronto is in prime position to capture the first division title in the franchise's 12-year history.

The Raptors, who have won 18 of their last 24 contests, can attribute much of their resurgence to the continuing improvement of Bosh, the fourth overall draft pick in 2003.

However, the 22-year-old Bosh was wowing college recruiters at Dallas' Lincoln High School the last time Toronto won here.

A perennial bottom feeder in the Eastern Conference over the last decade, the Raptors have not won a road game vs. the Spurs since January 17, 2001. Toronto has lost five straight trips to San Antonio and is 6-16 all-time vs. the Spurs.

A two-time All-Star and Toronto's leader in scoring and rebounding, the 6-10 Bosh scored 24 points to pace the Raptors to a 93-76 triumph at Charlotte on Saturday.

The Spurs are riding a season-high five-game winning streak.

San Antonio cruised to a 102-71 triumph here over the Seattle SuperSonics on Saturday. Tony Parker scored 21 points and Tim Duncan grabbed 15 rebounds for the Spurs.
