Clippers look to move on without Livingston

Feb 28, 2007 - 3:22 PM Seattle (22-34) at LA Clippers (27-29) 10:30 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- After losing one of their young stars, the Los Angeles Clippers will have to band together.

One day after learning that point guard Shaun Livingston will miss the remainder of the season, the Clippers host the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday.

One of the cornerstones of the Clippers' organization, Livingston has multiple torn ligaments in his left knee, tearing the ACL, PCL, MCL and lateral meniscus. He will be out eight to 12 months.

Livingston suffered the injury early in an unwatchable sequence during the first quarter of Monday's 100-93 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats, forcing the sold-out Staples Center into a shocked silence.

However, his teammates stuck together, led by Corey Maggette, who scored 25 points to lead six players in double figures.

Los Angeles, which won its second straight contest after a four-game losing streak, is one-half game ahead of the New Orleans Hornets (27-30) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Without Livingston, the Clippers will look to stay afloat against the SuperSonics, who have won four of their last six games, including a 97-73 win over Portland on Monday.

Los Angeles lost at home to Seattle on November 22 and has lost seven of the last 10 meetings between the teams at the Staples Center.
