Bulls face road-weary Warriors, hope to avoid three-game skid
Feb 28, 2007 - 3:49 PM Golden State (26-32) at Chicago (32-27) 8:30 pm ESTCHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Bulls continue to be maddeningly inconsistent.
Looking to avoid their second three-game skid this season, the Bulls host the road-weary Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.
After winning its first three games after the All-Star break, Chicago appeared primed for a run in the woeful Eastern Conference. However, the Bulls followed the promising win streak with losses on consecutive nights.
After a close loss at Detroit on Sunday, Chicago was defeated, 94-87, vs. Orlando one night later. Ben Gordon scored 32 points and Luol Deng added 23, six rebounds and six assists for the Bulls, who completed a stretch of four games in five nights.
The Warriors open a five-game road trip on Tuesday with a 122-101 loss at Indiana. Golden State has struggled on the road this season, posting a dismal 6-22 record away from home.
Newly acquired forward Josh Powell was injured late in Tuesday's loss after sliding head first into the scorer's table. He was taken off on a stretcher and transported directly to the hospital.
The Warriors already have injury problems. Guard Stephen Jackson sat out on Tuesday with a fractured toe but may play on Wednesday for Golden State, which has lost five in a row on the road against Chicago.
