Nuggets go for third straight win vs. Rockets

DENVER (Ticker) - The Denver Nuggets go for their third straight win Friday when they host the Houston Rockets.

Following a four-game losing streak, the Nuggets have won two in a row as superstars Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson continue to mesh as teammates.

In Wednesday's 111-101 win over Orlando, Iverson scored 34 points and dished out seven assists and Anthony added 23 points as Denver climbed back to .500, one-half game ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers for seventh place in the Western Conference.

The Rockets are coming off back-to-back home losses to Eastern Conference foes Boston and Toronto. Houston is fifth in the West.

In Wednesday's 106-90 setback to Toronto, Tracy McGrady scored 22 points and handed out five assists. he continues to shoulder the load in the absence of All-Star center Yao Ming, who is expected to return later this month.

The teams have split the first two meetings this season, with each winning on the other's home floor.
