Wizards look for second straight with Jamison, Butler back

Mar 4, 2007 - 3:24 PM Golden State (26-34) at Washington (32-25) 1:00 pm EST

WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- All the Washington Wizards needed was the return of some important pieces.

The Wizards aim for their second straight win with Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler back in the lineup when they host the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.

Jamison missed 12 games with a sprained left knee sustained against Detroit on January 30. Washington was just 4-8 without the former All-Star in the lineup.

The 6-9 Jamison did not waste any time making an impact in his first game back, collecting 22 points and six rebounds in Friday's dramatic 93-92 victory over Atlanta.

Prior to his injury, Jamison reached the 35-point plateau in back-to-back games from January 26-28 - both wins.

Friday's matchup also marked the return of Butler, the All-Star swingman who missed the last three games due to back spasms. He did not have the impact Jamison did, scoring just four points on 1-of-10 shooting.

One of the highest-scoring teams in the Eastern Conference, Washington scored just 92.0 points per game - well under its 104.7 average - in its recent four-game slide.

Also a fast-paced squad, the Warriors have been without two of their scoring catalysts - guards Baron Davis (knee) and Stephen Jackson (toe). As a result, they have lost five straight contests, including a 106-97 loss to New York on Friday.

Al Harrington scored 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting for Golden State, which shot 45 percent (40-of-89).
