Hawks hope for rare road win against Heat

Mar 5, 2007 - 4:24 PM Atlanta (22-38) at Miami (29-29) 7:30 pm EST

MIAMI (Ticker) -- The Atlanta Hawks have found wins hard to come by recently.

The slumping Hawks aim to end their five-game skid Monday when they visit the Miami Heat in a Southeast Division battle.

Atlanta's most recent defeat came in embarrassing fashion, a 104-100 overtime loss at home to the New York Knicks on Saturday.

Joe Johnson scored 32 points to pace the Hawks, who squandered a 15-point lead against an injury-riddled Knicks team playing without guard Jamal Crawford and forward David Lee.

Winless in its last four road games, Atlanta hopes to cure its road woes against Miami, which has won three of its last four despite the absence of injured All-Star Dwyane Wade.

Shaquille O'Neal has took it upon himself in the last game, collecting 31 points, 15 rebounds and six assists in Friday's 85-82 victory over the Detroit Pistons.

A 14-time All-Star center, O'Neal has led Miami in scoring in each of the three wins without Wade, who still has not made a decision on whether he will rehab his injured shoulder or have season-ending surgery.
