Streaking Sixers shoot for sixth straight win
Mar 10, 2007 - 4:22 PM Philadelphia (24-38) at Indiana (29-31) 7:00 pm ESTINDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Andre Iguodala and the Philadelphia 76ers surprisingly are closer to the postseason than they are to ping-pong balls.
The suddenly surging 76ers aim for their sixth straight win Saturday when they host the sliding Indiana Pacers, who may be without their best player.
Once considered a lock for the draft lottery, Philadelphia improved by increasing Iguodala's role. The Sixers are just 4 1/2 games behind eighth-place Orlando in the Eastern Conference.
Philadelphia improved to 19-19 since trading four-time scoring champion Allen Iverson and 15-12 since waiving forward Chris Webber.
Iguodala continued his stellar play Friday, scoring 31 points in a 108-92 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.
Philadelphia will look to keep the hot streak going when they take on Pacers, who may be without star forward Jermaine O'Neal, who has a sprained knee.
Indiana's leading scorer at 19.7 points per game, O'Neal injured his knee in the third quarter of the Pacers' 94-72 loss to Utah on Wednesday. He scored 11 points before departing.
