James looks to continue torrid pace vs. Kings

Mar 13, 2007 - 1:52 PM Sacramento (28-34) at Cleveland (38-25) 7:00 pm EDT

CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- With LeBron James scoring points at a feverish pace, things continue to look bright for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Week, James aims to lead the Cavaliers to a season-high sixth consecutive victory in Tuesday's meeting against the Sacramento Kings.

James is averaging 33.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.8 assists, while shooting 52.9 percent from the floor in his last 11 contests. He has reached 26 points in each of those games and is the league's top scorer since February 15.

During their streak, the Cavaliers are averaging 101.0 points while yielding 91.8. They trail the Detroit Pistons by two games for the Central Division lead and the top record in the Eastern Conference.

Cleveland prolonged its success with Sunday's 99-88 win over the Indiana Pacers. James scored 26 points and Larry Hughes added 23, improving his average to 17.6 in his last five contests.

Sacramento has lost its last two games after a four-game winning streak and trails the Los Angeles Clippers by one game for the final playoff berth in the West.

After missing two games following his arrest on a domestic violence charge, Ron Artest scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds in nearly 39 minutes of Sunday's 113-101 loss to the Denver Nuggets.

Mike Bibby made 12-of-20 shots, including 5-of-9 from the arc, to score 34 points for the Kings. He is averaging 24 points in his last six outings.

Cleveland took the most recent encounter against Sacramento, 108-98, on January 9, and can complete a season sweep of the California teams for the first time in franchise history.
