Wizards, Pacers seek to snap losing streaks

Mar 14, 2007 - 1:22 PM Washington (34-28) at Indiana (29-34) 7:00 pm EDT

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Washington Wizards are watching their lead in the Southeast Division melt away.

The Wizards will try to put an end to their three-game losing streak Wednesday when they visit the Indiana Pacers, who have lost 10 in a row.

Washington is just one-half game ahead of the defending champion Miami Heat (34-29). The Wizards are coming off a 106-104 loss to Miami on Sunday.

The Pacers squandered a 14-point lead in an 86-81 loss at Minnesota on Wednesday. The losing streak is the longest for Indiana since it dropped 12 straight during the 1988-89 campaign.

With All-Star Jermaine O'Neal sidelined with a knee injury, the Pacers are in danger of falling out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They are tied with New York and New Jersey for the final two postseason berths.
