Undermanned Hawks go for fifth straight win
Mar 14, 2007 - 1:31 PM Atlanta (26-39) at Boston (18-45) 7:30 pm EDTBOSTON (Ticker) - The Atlanta Hawks may not have All-Star Joe Johnson, but that hasn't stop them from moving forward.
With Johnson sidelined with a leg injury, the Hawks look to extend their season-high winning streak to five games when they visit the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.
Atlanta will be hoping for its first five-game winning streak since the 1999-2000 campaign, which also marked the last time it completed a season above .500.
Josh Smith had 26 points and a career-high 17 rebounds as the Hawks posted a 104-92 triumph over Philadelphia on Wednesday.
Atlanta trails Indiana, New Jersey and New York by four games for the final two playoff spots in the Eastern Conference.
After a four-game winning streak, the Celtics have dropped three of four games.
Atlanta has won both matchups with the Celtics this season, including an 82-76 victory here on January 24.
