Jazz look to overcome poor start to road trip

Mar 16, 2007 - 2:05 PM Utah (43-21) at Philadelphia (25-40) 7:00 pm EDT

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Utah Jazz have not had much to enjoy on their four-game road swing.

Mehmet Okur and Carlos Boozer try to help the Jazz snap a two-game losing streak when they face the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday.

After winning six in a row, Utah failed to reach the century mark in back-to-back road defeats against the Miami Heat and the Orlando Magic. The Jazz still own a 10 1/2 game lead over the Denver Nuggets (32-31) in the Northwest Division race.

Boozer has three double-doubles in his last four games, averaging 20.8 points and 11 rebounds in that stretch. He scored 29 points in Wednesday's 101-90 loss to Orlando.

Okur scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Jazz, who lost for just fourth time in 25 contests when Okur hits the 20-point plateau.

Boozer scored 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Jazz to a 98-87 victory over the Sixers on January 3. Utah has won six of the last seven meetings.

Philadelphia is 17-18 since opening the season with eight wins in 30 contests. However, the 76ers have dropped their last two after a season-high seven-game winning streak, including six straight at home.

Philadelphia is coming off an 88-87 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. Andre Iguodala scored 19 points and Willie Green added 16 for the Sixers.
