Inconsistent Magic host Kings

Mar 17, 2007 - 3:28 PM Sacramento (28-37) at Orlando (30-36) 7:00 pm EDT

ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- The Orlando Magic have played like two totally different clubs in their last two games and will be looking to maintain their current identity.

Orlando tries to build off a big victory when they host the Sacramento Kings on Saturday.

The Magic are in a three-way tie with New Jersey (30-36) and Indiana (29-35) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Two nights after a dreadful 119-108 loss to the lowly Charlotte Bobcats, the Magic defeated one of the league's stronger teams in a 101-90 home victory over the Utah Jazz.

Dwight Howard scored 31 points to lead the Magic, who are just 6-7 in their last 13 home contests.

The Kings are 12th in the Western Conference and just two games out of the final playoff spot despite a 10-23 road record.

Sacramento is coming off a 103-97 loss to the Miami Heat on Friday for its fifth straight defeat. The loss marked the 30th time this season the Kings have scored under 100 points.

Ron Artest scored 32 points to lead the Kings, who are averaging just 94.0 points a game, the third-lowest average in the NBA.
