Warriors aim for rare road win in Seattle

Mar 17, 2007 - 4:24 PM Golden State (30-37) at Seattle (25-39) 10:00 pm EDT

SEATTLE (Ticker) -- The Golden State Warriors look for a rare road victory when they visit the Seattle SuperSonics on Saturday.

Golden State, which has not made the playoffs in 14 seasons, is tied with the Los Angeles Clippers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Golden State is a solid 24-10 at home this season but its seven road wins are tied for second-fewest in the league with Seattle. It easily defeated Minnesota, 106-86, on Friday for its fourth win in its last five games.

Monta Ellis led the Warriors with 24 points for his highest points output since he netted 28 in a 115-109 loss to the Clippers on January 17.

The SuperSonics are 4 1/2 games out of the final playoff spot in the West and lost their fourth straight, 101-97, to Detroit on Tuesday. Ray Allen led Seattle with 27 points and has been its leading scorer in 19 of its last 23 games.

Allen poured in 38 points in Seattle's 108-104 victory over Golden State on January 6 and netted 34 in a 107-95 triumph over the Warriors on November 18.
