Cavaliers seek ninth straight win

Mar 20, 2007 - 2:39 PM Cleveland (41-25) at Charlotte (24-43) 7:00 pm EDT

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers seek to extend an eight-game winning streak when they visit the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday.

James scored 24 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and dished out nine assists in an 82-73 win over Utah on Saturday.

Cleveland has not lost to an Eastern Conference opponent since an 86-81 defeat at Miami on February 25.

James has led the Cavaliers in scoring in 13 of their last 14 games, but it is the improved play of his supporting cast that has them just 1 1/2 games behind Eastern Conference leader Detroit (42-23).

Larry Hughes is averaging over 16 points and six assists per game during the run and forward Drew Gooden is pulling down just under 10 rebounds for the Cavaliers.

This will be the fourth and final meeting of the season between the teams. Ray Felton scored 23 points to lead the Bobcats to a 92-88 victory in the first meeting, but the Cavs won the last two.

James is averaging under 19 points against Charlotte this season, down over eight points from his season average (27.4).
