Anthony, Nuggets aim for season sweep of Raptors

Mar 23, 2007 - 2:24 PM Denver (34-32) at Toronto (37-31) 7:00 pm EDT

TORONTO (Ticker) -- Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets hope to continue their dominance north of the border.

The Nuggets hope to shake off a tough loss and continue their postseason surge Friday when they visit the Toronto Raptors.

Denver had its five-game winning streak stopped on Thursday as rookie Tyrus Thomas' game-winning tip-in with two-tenths of a seconds remaining gave the Chicago Bulls a 109-108 victory.

Anthony and Allen Iverson combined for 59 points in the loss for the Nuggets, who trail the Los Angeles Lakers (36-32) by just one game for sixth place in the Western Conference standings.

Denver has not sustained a setback against Toronto since a 112-106 loss at the Pepsi Center on November 17, 2004.

In their first matchup on November 18, Anthony's 34 points helped the Nuggets post a 117-109 triumph. All-Star Chris Bosh paced the Raptors with 31 points and nine rebounds.

The Raptors put an end to their two-game slide with Wednesday's 92-85 triumph over the Orlando Magic behind Bosh's 34 points and 16 boards.
