Billups, Pistons look to handle Bucks on the road

Mar 25, 2007 - 4:23 PM Detroit (42-25) at Milwaukee (25-42) 3:30 pm EDT

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- If Chauncey Billups and the Detroit Pistons are going to maintain the Eastern Conference's top spot, they must take care of business against lesser opponents.

That starts when they visit the lowly Bucks on Sunday.

Billups recently returned from a groin injury and the Pistons will need him to get back to full speed quickly, as they hold a slim 1 1/2 game lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers for the conference's top spot.

Detroit will have to beat Milwaukee without their leading rebounder, as Rasheed Wallace (7.8 rpg) has been suspended for the game after getting his 18th technical foul of the season in a 90-89 loss in San Antonio on Saturday.

Detroit has won six of their last nine games and played San Antonio down to the wire on the road.

Meanwhile, the Bucks have lost five of eight, and are also coming off a 104-103 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.

The Pistons have won two of three meetings this season, the most recent meeting a 84-83 win in Milwaukee on February 20. Billups scored 19 points and added six assists in that game.
