Bryant looks to continue scoring surge against Warriors
Mar 25, 2007 - 3:30 PM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Superstar Kobe Bryant looks to reach the half century mark once again.Bryant will try to pick up his fifth straight game with at least 50 points when the Los Angeles Lakers welcome in the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.
At 6-7, Bryant joined Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in NBA history to score 50 points in four consecutive games in Friday's 111-105 triumph at New Orleans.
"The coolest thing about it is that this younger generation gets a chance to learn about (Elgin) Baylor," Bryant said. "A chance to learn about Chamberlain and some of the things they accomplished so that their legacy will continue to live on."
Bryant buried Portland for 65 points here on March 16, followed by a 50-point performance vs. Minnesota one day later before netting 60 at Memphis on Thursday.
With a two-game lead over Denver (34-33) for sixth place in the Western Conference, Los Angeles has won four games in a row since a season-worst seven-game losing streak from March 2-15.
Baron Davis has just one rebound away from posting a triple-double with 34 points, 15 assists and nine boards in Golden State's 135-128 victory over Washington on Friday.
