Knicks seek to snap four-game losing streak

Mar 28, 2007 - 2:41 PM Cleveland (43-28) at New York (30-40) 7:30 pm EDT

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The New York Knicks seek to snap a four-game losing streak and move back into the playoff race when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.

The Knicks are in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, two games behind New Jersey (32-38) for the eighth and final playoff berth. They have 12 games left, five at Madison Square Garden.

Stephon Marbury scored 32 points in a 94-89 loss to Orlando on Monday. Orlando (33-38) is seventh in the East.

The Cavaliers trail first-place Detroit (45-25) by 2 1/2 games in the Central Division and for the top seed in the East. They have won 10 of their last 13 contests and are coming off a 105-94 victory over Indiana on Tuesday.

All-Star LeBron James scored 26 points and Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 23 for the Cavaliers, who are 16-18 on the road this season.

James is averaging 27.5 points in three meetings with the Knicks. But he was held to 21 in a 90-68 romp over New York on Saturday.
