Anthony, Nuggets aim to bounce back vs. Sonics

Mar 28, 2007 - 3:22 PM Seattle (28-42) at Denver (35-34) 9:00 pm EDT

DENVER (Ticker) -- Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets are glad to be back home.

Anthony will try to help the Nuggets bounce back from a 2-3 road trip when they host the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday.

Denver lost a heartbreaking 113-109 decision to the Detroit Pistons on Monday after Rasheed Wallace of the Pistons forced overtime with a 62-foot basket at the buzzer.

The Nuggets trail the sixth-place Los Angeles Lakers (38-33) by two games in the Western Conference playoff race.

Anthony, who is averaging 32.5 points in his last four games against Seattle, will look to rebound from a 13-point performance in Monday's loss.

Denver guard J.R. Smith has scored 20-plus points in two of his last three contests and is shooting 56 percent (22-of-39) from the floor in that stretch.

The SuperSonics rallied from a 25-point second-half deficit in a 114-106 victory at Minnesota as Rashard Lewis netted 21 of his 35 points in the fourth quarter.

Seattle is 0-2 against Denver this season, allowing 114.5 points in both meetings.
