Kinsey, Grizzlies seek third straight win

Mar 30, 2007 - 2:43 PM Memphis (19-54) at Seattle (29-42) 10:30 pm EDT

SEATTLE (Ticker) -- Rookie Tarence Kinsey has been one of the few bright spots for the Memphis Grizzlies.

The lowly Grizzlies will try to push their winning streak to a season-high three games Friday when they face Rashard Lewis and the Seattle SuperSonics.

Behind Kinsey, the Grizzlies - the NBA's worst team - have posted back-to-back wins for the first time this season. They are coming off Thursday's 96-92 triumph at Portland.

An undrafted free agent out of South Carolina, Kinsey poured in a season-high 24 points in Tuesday's triumph over the Los Angeles Lakers. He is averaging 19.0 points in his last four games.

"It feels real good. We have been struggling to put two games together all year," Kinsey said. "With the guys that we have it shows that all of us can play and that we will fight together until the end."

The Grizzlies have not won three consecutive matchups since a five-game run to end last season.

Seattle is coming off its second straight win on Wednesday, a 100-97 victory over Denver. An unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, Lewis collected 33 points and 10 rebounds.

With All-Star Ray Allen sidelined for the remainder of the season, Lewis has took over the load left by their leading scorer. At 6-10, Lewis is averaging 17.0 fourth-quarter points in his last two outings - both come-from-behind wins.
