Nets aim to rebound from loss

Mar 31, 2007 - 2:54 PM Philadelphia (29-43) at New Jersey (33-39) 7:30 pm EDT

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- The New Jersey Nets seek to tie the Orlando Magic for the seventh playoff seed when they host the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night.

New Jersey leads New York (31-41) and Indiana (31-41) in the race for the final playoff spot.

Orlando (34-39) holds a one-half game lead over the Nets.

Vince Carter scored 27 points in the Nets' 110-105 loss to Detroit on Friday.

"We've got 10 games left," Nets coach Lawrence Frank said. "If we keep sharing the ball like we did, and we find a way to get stops, we'll be OK. But we haven't found that yet."

Rookie Josh Boone has averaged 20.0 points and 7.3 rebounds in his last three outings. He missed the first 26 games of the season with an injured knee.

Nets All-Star guard Jason Kidd has failed to score at least 15 points in five consecutive contests.

The Sixers have won three of their last four matchups, including an 88-82 triumph over Boston on Friday. Kyle Korver scored 26 points and Andre Iguodala had 23 and 12 assists in the win.

With the win, Philadelphia earned its first winning month at 9-5 since going 8-7 in January.

The Flyers have won five of the last seven meetings against New Jersey.
