Bulls seek to extend 10-game winning streak against Hawks

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- After squandering a chance to take sole possession of second place in the Eastern Conference, Ben Gordon and the Chicago Bulls seek to bounce back against a familiar punching bag.

The Bulls seek to extend their 10-game winning streak against the Atlanta Hawks when the teams meet on Sunday afternoon.

Chicago had a chance to move past the Cleveland Cavaliers and into second place in the East, but surrendered a four-point lead in the final minute of overtime in a 112-108 loss on Saturday. Superstar LeBron James tallied five points in the final 42 seconds of overtime for Cleveland.

Chicago's Ben Gordon scored 37 points but missed two shots and had a key turnover late in overtime.

The loss dropped Chicago 1 1/2 games behind Cleveland (44-29). The Cavaliers host Boston on Sunday.

The Hawks' last win over the Bulls was a 116-101 decision at Atlanta on April 9, 2004.

The Hawks are without All-Star guard Joe Johnson. who has missed 12 straight games with a strained left calf.

Atlanta has lost five straight games and seven of eight, including a 101-87 setback at Charlotte on Wednesday. Josh Smith scored 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for the Hawks, who trail the Bobcats by one game in the Southeast Division.
