Davis, Warriors look to continue postseason push

Apr 1, 2007 - 1:52 PM Memphis (19-55) at Golden State (34-39) 4:00 pm EDT

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) - The Golden State Warriors still have hopes of ending their 12-year postseason drought.

The Warriors will host the Memphis Grizzlies, who own the NBA's worst record, on Sunday.

After two straight losses, Golden State survived a late fourth-quarter surge and held on for a 124-119 triumph over the Phoenix Suns on Thursday.

Jason Richardson made eight 3-pointers en route to a season-high 36 points in the win for the Warriors, who are two games behind the Los Angeles Clippers (36-37) and Denver (35-36) for the two final playoff spots in the Western Conference.

Golden State point guard Baron Davis has stepped his game up over the last four games, averaging 21.5 points and 9.5 assists.

Memphis enters Sunday's contest after having its season-high two-game winning streak ended with a 120-93 loss to the Seattle SuperSonics on Friday.

The Warriors had four players reach the 20-point plateau in an 118-115 overtime triumph over the Grizzlies here on February 21. Mike Miller, who is sidelined with patella tendinitis, led Memphis with a career-high 45 points.
