James remains game-time decision as Cavaliers face Timberwolves

Apr 3, 2007 - 5:06 PM Cleveland (44-30) at Minnesota (31-42) 8:00 pm EDT

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers could be without LeBron James when they need him the most.

The Cavaliers hope to have James in the lineup Tuesday when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves.

James missed Cleveland's 98-96 loss to Boston on Sunday with right knee tendinitis and remains a game-time decision for Tuesday's contest. The three-time All-Star will be re-evaluated after Tuesday's shootaround.

Larry Hughes scored 24 points Sunday and Sasha Pavlovic added 17 for Cleveland (44-30), which is 3 1/2 games behind the Detroit Pistons (47-26) for the best record in the Eastern Conference with nine games left.

The Timberwolves (31-42) still have faint hopes of gaining a playoff berth in the West but are five games behind the Los Angeles Clippers (36-37) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the conference.

Minnesota beat the Orlando Magic, 105-104 in overtime on Sunday, snapping a three-game losing streak.

Ricky Davis scored a season-high 36 points and Kevin Garnett added 22 and eight rebounds for the Wolves, who will be trying to win back-to-back games for the first time since February 11-14.
