Warriors in desperate need of win at Memphis
Apr 6, 2007 - 3:40 PM Golden State (36-39) at Memphis (19-57) 8:00 pm EDTMEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- The Golden State Warriors continue their push for a playoff spot when they face the NBA-worst Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.
Looking to make the playoffs for the first time in 13 years, the Warriors are 1 1/2 games behind the Los Angeles Clippers (37-37) for the eighth and final postseason spot.
If the Warriors miss the playoffs, their struggles away from home will be a major reason why. They are just 9-28 on the road.
On Wednesday, the Warriors did open a three-game road trip with an impressive 110-99 triumph over playoff-bound Houston.
Memphis continued its lackluster season, dropping its third straight game with Tuesday's 116-111 setback to the Pacific Division champion Phoenix.
