Pacers hope to snap 11-game road losing streak

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- If the Indiana Pacers are going to remain in contention for the final playoff spot, they will need to find a way to win away from home.

The Pacers look to snap an 11-game road losing streak when they face the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday.

Despite a woeful 3-18 stretch since February 21, Indiana trails Orlando (34-41) by just 1 1/2 games for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Indiana has not missed the playoffs since 1997.

The Pacers, who will finish with a losing record for the first time in 10 years, are looking to avoid losing 12 consecutive road games for the first time since dropping 15 in a row in 1989.

Indiana's hopes of making the postseason may hinge on star forward Jermaine O'Neal, who has missed two of the last four games with a sore knee.

O'Neal scored 20 points in Tuesday's 100-85 home loss to Detroit.

The Bobcats are seeking their first three-game winning streak since a four-game run from February 14-23.

Gerald Wallace registered 27 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists to lift the Bobcats to a 108-100 win at Washington on Wednesday.

The teams have split two games this season, each winning on the road.
